'Integrity, efficiency essential for officers'

Addressing new Income Tax Inspectors during the valedictory of their induction training, Sudarshan urged them to remain honest for the benefit of entire society.

The training for the Income Tax officials was conducted by the Direct Taxes Regional Training Institute (DTRTI) – a training arm of the Income Tax Department located in Bangalore.

Dealing with the all pervading problem of ‘corruption’ is the need of the hour and that public servants must ensure a corruption-free administration, he added.

He pointed out the removal of various inequalities in the society was also essential for sustainable development of the country.

Commissioner of Income Tax Jahanzeb Akhtar highlighted the rigorous, modernised, practical and professional approach being taken to train the inspectors so that they develop a service orientation along with their enforcement roles.
