JOIN USPolice said three-year-old Shyam died on the spot. The child was on his way to Bharath Play Home with his uncle Puneet Kumar on a cycle. Puneet stopped to pack breakfast for Shyam in the mid-way. While the child was sitting on the cycle carrier and was waiting for his uncle to return, a school bus rammed into the cycle.
The child who fell on the road was run over by the vehicle. The killer driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the scene, police added.
Vehicles recovered
The Chandra Layout police arrested one person and recovered 15 bikes worth Rs 5.50 lakh.
Police have identified the culprit as Manjesh (19) from GKW Layout in Vijaynagar. He used duplicate keys to steal the bikes from Chandra Layout, Vijaynagar, J J Nagar, Magadi Road, Rajajinagar, Sheshadripuram and Hanumanthnagar, they added.
In another incident, J P Nagar police arrested Rizwan Pasha (24) from Iliyasnagar, Narayanswamy (22) from Harappanahalli in Anekal, Ravikumar (22) from Kothnur Dinne, Kutti (20) from N S Palya, Purushottam (21) from B G Road and Mosses (25) from Jayanagar and recovered two bikes and car wheels.
On a tip-off, the police arrested them near Shani Mahatma temple at K R Layout in J P Nagar sixth phase.
