Yashwant, a resident of Kapathua village, was having an affair with Suman from the nearby Kareha village. The two studied in the same college.
When the girl’s family came to know about the affair, they objected to it and asked her to keep away from Yashwant. The love stricken girl, however, continued to meet Yashwant.
On Tuesday night, they asked Suman to tell Yashwant to come to her house as they wanted to discuss with him their affair. They also assured Suman that she would be married with Yashwant. When Yashwant reached Suman’s house, he was overpowered by the family members who tied his hands and feet and whipped him several times, reports said. A piece of cloth was also put into his mouth.
When Suman objected, she too was tied in the same way and thrashed. An unconscious Yashwant was later thrown into the nearby fields.
Yashwant was rushed to the hospital, when his family members, who were looking for him, spotted him in the fields on Wednesday morning. His condition was stated to be critical.
