<p>Led by the President of Karnataka Kaavalu Pade, M Mohan Kumar Gowda, nurses, lab technicians and paramedics whose jobs were annulled following the recent order of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, launched hunger strike in front of Mahatma Gandhiji’s statue at Gandhi Square. They held pla cards attracting crowds what with the cartoon on the same depicting the plight of the retrenched staff and the government, with a caption hitting the authorities straight. <br /><br />They staged demonstration from 11 am to 5 pm. About 50 of the total 83 who have lost their jobs participated in the protest. <br /></p>
