Sensex closes 33 points higher

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 18,063.48 points, ended at 18,032.11 points, up 33.7 points or 0.19 percent, from Friday's close at 17,998.41 points.

It had risen to 18,216.5 points soon after opening bell.  At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was ruling 0.05 percent up at 5,410.2 points.
Broader markets indices closed flat.
