Basha's seven-wicket haul puts South on top

Last Updated 20 June 2009, 16:44 IST

After restricting Combined to a modest 161 all out in 71.3 overs, South consolidated further through their openers, who added 131 for the undefeated first wicket.

Combined’s decision to bat first backfired with Basha running amok with an impressive seven-wicket (7/81) haul. Only Kuldeep Yadav (52 n.o.) and S Aparjith (47) withstood Basha’s test to give semblance of respect to Combined’s innings.

The excellent work by the bowlers was complemented by batsmen Mayank Agarwal (68 n.o.) and Akshath Reddy (48 n.o.).
