JOIN USThe non-teaching staff of the HIMS had moved the High Court seeking to quash the Government Order dated August 26, relieving them from their services.|
The petitioners, Vedavati and 69 others in their submission had sought directions to the State Government to quash the order stating that the it was in violation of principles of natural justice and has been blindly issued without verifying the facts.
The State sought time to time as the matter had to be discussed before the Cabinet. Additional Advocate General K M Nataraj argued that they were looking at protecting the interests of everyone and not just the interests of the appointed people.
The petitioners argued that the appointment orders were issued after approval of the selection committee appointed for the purpose of selecting the people for the vacant posts.
Justice Ram Mohan Reddy observed that irregularities were on the part of the selection committee and action should be taken against the selection committee and not the employees. It also observed there was no exceptional cause like imminent danger to public health, to issue termination letters.|
The petitioners said the Government relied on the unofficial note without verifying the facts. They also said the norms to give notice and a month’s salary to the employees to be relieved have not been followed by the State Government. The matter will be heard on September 6.
