Stage set in Bangalore for grand party

As decided earlier Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa will receive the baton from Sports Minister Goolihatti D Shekhar at the Sree Kanteerava before handing it over to sportspersons, including badminton ace Prakash Padukone, Olympian Kenneth Powell and footballer T Shanmugham.

However, ace cricketer Rahul Dravid and multiple Grand Slam champion Mahesh Bhupathi will not be attending the relay. While Dravid is playing in the ongoing BCCI Corporate Trophy at Vishakhapatnam, Bhupathi is participating in the US Open.

Meanwhile, India Post, Karnataka Circle will release a special cover depicting the heritage and culture of the State. The cover with special cancellation and affixed with Queen’s Baton commemorative stamp will be released at the stadium at 4pm.
