Beauty clinic fined for deficient service

M G Vijaya approached Vibes for removal of facial hair using laser treatment after she saw their advertisements. She paid Rs 16,500 after Vibes Jayanagar promised her that the treatment would make her totally free of facial hair problems.

But she began her treatment in their Kormangala branch as the laser machine in Jayanagar was out of order.

After five  sittings, she was not given the sixth one and was told she needed more sittings to be rid of her facial hair and that would cost her another Rs 16,500.

Irked by their rudeness and misled by them, she complained to the III Additional Forum and its president T Rajashekariah has ordered Vibes to pay her Rs 5,000 as compensation, return Rs 2,750 for refusing to give her the last treatment and another Rs 3,000 as costs.

In another case, the Forum has also ordered a shop called Dream World to refund
Rs 3,500 to Elliot Sudarshan Raj who got a defective trolley bag from them and which they could not repair to his satisfaction.

Lift not installed

Venaram Choudhary of Bangalore had paid up Rs 4.88 lakh to a firm for installing a lift in his residence. But till date, the lift has not been fully installed and therefore he has not been able to use it.

He complained to the II Additional District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum and its president S S Nagarale has ordered Noble Lifts Co in Mumbai to refund his Rs 4.88 lakh with costs of Rs 2000.

Faulty mixer grinder

K G Venkappa had bought a mixer grinder from Big Bazaar in Jayanagar for Rs 2,900 which had a two-year warranty period. However, it began to give problems from the first day of use and the jar could not be fixed properly on the groove of the mixer.

The service centre of Big Bazaar fixed the top cover, but it was still unusable. Then the
mixer’s three jars and couplers began to malfunction.

He finally complained to the IV Additional Forum which has ordered TTK Prestige Ltd, the manufacturers of the mixer to refund Rs 2,000 to the complainant along with Rs 1,000 for causing him inconvenience and another Rs 500 as compensation.

Builders

The Forum has ordered CITY Square Enterprises Pvt Ltd to refund Rs 75,000 to K Balakrishna who is still waiting for a site allotment from them at Attibeli Hobli. It has also ordered Omkara Builders and Developers to refund Rs one lakh to Rohini C N who was not given the sale deed for the a promised to her at Chikkaballapur district.

Sri Yathiraja Housing Co-operative Society Ltd has also been found guilty of deficient service and the Fourth Forum president D Krishnappa has ordered it to refund Rs 1.95 lakh to Mangala Gowri who has not been allotted a site.
