Foundation laid for Ambedkar statue

He was speaking after doing the ground breaking ceremony in front of the Mini Vidhana Soudha here on Saturday for the erection of Ambedkar statue.

A garden will be maintained around the statue for which funds will be donated from legislator’s fund (Rs 3 lakh from MLA and Rs  1.5 lakh from MLC), expressed Narayanaswamy who directed the contractors to complete the works by August 15 of this year.

MLC Y A Narayanaswamy and Zilla Panchayat President M Srinivasan spoke on the occasion. They echoed the same view that statues of great people who served the nation not only encourage the future generation but also guides them.

Tahsildar Manjunathswamy, Zilla Panchayat member G Rajanna,  TMC President  Prakash,  and others were present.
