About 50 colleges across the City were part of the two-day inter-collegiate competition, ‘Rendezvous 2010’, held at Carmel pre-university college.

The college wore a festive look with the spirit of competition and talent pouring through the corridors.

With over 30 events, the fest truly gave an opportunity for students to express themselves in different ways.

Students got in touch with their creative side in unique events like nail art, hairstyling, t-shirt designing, tattoo design, salad making and mehendi design.

There were also a wide range of events for those who could really do wonders with words.

Unlike most fests, Rendezvous gave prominence to languages apart from English.
They hosted events like Slokha Recital in Sanskrit, ‘Creative Writing’ was in Hindi and the Extempore was in Kannada.

The colourful and vibrant dance and music performances by the various college groups brought out the festivity in the college.

Adding to the glamour were celebrities from various fields judging the various events.
If playback singer Chinmai Athreyas, from the Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa fame conducted the Anthakshari, the quiz was judged by Pick Brain Giri from Grey caps limited.

Even Kannada film choreographer-cum-dancer Maria Ashitha took part in judging the Indian Dance event.

Students also got an opportunity to groove to the tunes of music bands Beat Gurus and Sound Parliament, who performed live.

The best however was saved for the last. The valedictory function was attended by Kannada film actor Yash, who not only spent time interacting with the students but also gave away awards.

After giving away the Champions Trophy to Mount Carmel College, Yash surprised the audience with an impromptu dance performance.
