CAVA to host national level workshop

Artists, students to participate in interaction

V A Deshpande, Dean of CAVA told reporters on Thursday that 32 students from different art colleges from across the Country would take part in the workshop. The students from Baroda, Shantiniketan, Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gulbarga, Tumkur, Dharwad and Davangere will participate and work on paintings, sculpture, graphics, photography, photo journalism and applied art.

The forum would provide a platform for interaction of fine arts students from different colleges and the states. It is an unique opportunity for the students to interact, exchange opinions and ideas and discuss the present trends in art. The programme would also serve a cultural exchange.

John Torrento, a visiting photographer from the United States will be the guest faculty, while Nanjundaswamy, an alumni of CAVA would conduct a workshop on illustration, he said. Besides, slide shows and presentations will be an integral part of the workshop.
Thomas John Kavoor, faculty of sculpture from Rajasthan University, Jaipur would conduct a workshop on ceramic cellmode bronze casting. G Venkatesh Kumar, professor of Psychology and Director of Academic Staff College and MLC Madhusudan would inaugurate the workshop on Sept 13 at 11.30 am. The visiting students will be provided accommodation at youth hostel.

CAVA faculty members Preethi Kapoor, Basavaraj and others were present.
