Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, he said that cops in Kadur did not come forth to arrest the persons who were distributing money among the votes. “Though we had complained and asked the Election Commission to keep the police officials who have inclination towards a particular party or who have biased stand, away from bypolls, EC paid no heed to it,” he said and added that EC had different rules for opposition and ruling party.
“On September 11, at 5 pm though all the people who are not the voters of Kadur constituency were asked to stay out of the constituency, Chikmagalur MLA C T Ravi and former MLA Sunil Kumar remained in the constituency. When this issue was brought to the notice of officials concerned, no action was taken,” Murthy said and questioned whether Ravi knows how a MLA should behave during elections.

Murthy said that District-in-charge Minister Ramachandra Gowda was the only person who did not turn up to campaign for BJP candidate. “He landed up in trouble and finally tendered his resignation before the Kadur poll results are out,” Murthy ridiculed.

He said that K M Kemparaju, the Congress candidate will win the election with huge margin because of the unity and dedication of all Congress leaders. District Congress General Secretary K Mohommad and spokesperson A N Mahesh were present.
