No need of Sanskrit varsity in State: KSP

Last Updated 22 June 2009, 19:26 IST

The Kannada litterateurs on Monday had a detailed discussion at the Pampa Hall of the Parishath where they took a unanimous decision that there is no need for Sanskrit-Veda University in the State when there are number of such universities across India.

The newly established Kannada Vishvavidyalaya at Hampi can be assigned the job of promoting Sanskrit and Veda.

Wastage of money

The Parishath members were also of the belief that it is nothing but a wastage of public money on a language which is not in use among public.

Thus the government should withdraw its decision of setting up the Sanskrit-Veda Vishvavidyalaya.
