Traffic diversions for Ganesha procession

The Ganesha idol installed by the organisation at Nehru Maidan will be taken in a procession and will be immersed in Mahammayi lake near Car Street. The procession, which will start from Nehru Maidan at 7 pm, will pass through A B Shetty Circle, Clock Tower, Hampankatta, K S Rao Road, Navabharath Circle, Dongarakeri and New Chitra Junction to reach Car Street. Hence, the traffic movement will be restricted and parking will be banned on all above roads till the end of the procession, stated a press release from the DC’s Office. Prior to the commencement of the procession, traffic will be restricted on Hampankatta - Muthappa Temple road and Nehru Maidan - U P Mallya Road depending on the number of devotees.

Meanwhile, ban will be in force at S P Circle - A B Shetty road and Hamilton Circle - A B Shetty road. Movement of buses will be restricted after 5.30 pm. KSRTC and service buses on Hampankatta - State Bank route should ply on Clock Tower - Lady Goschen Hospital road to reach the service bus stand. While returning, buses can ply on Rao and Rao Circle, Hamilton Circle and Clock tower route. Buses on Mangaladevi - State Bank route should cut short the trip at Nehru Circle and return to Mangaladevi.

 Route number 16 buses will ply on Nellikayi Road and return from Hamilton Circle.
All buses from Hampankatta to State Bank should cut short the trip at Milagres junction, once the procession reaches RTO Office road. Route number 27 buses should take diversion at Ananda Shetty Circle. 

Public can park their vehicles on one side side of Old Kent road, Pandeshwar road, Rosario road and Fort road.
