Cheating case against KPL team owners

Suvarna has alleged that Bhava and Farooq have cheated him of Rs 1.10 crore and after taking his charge into account, the court has directed the Cubbon Park police to investigate the matter. “I had invested first Rs 90 lakh and then Rs 20 lakh for the sake of cricket and now I have been cheated by Bhava,” he alleged. Apparently, after the differences cropped up with regard to money, Suvarna decided not to be a part of Mangalore United.

Bhava, however, denied the charges against him. “He (Santosh Suvarna) was not a partner at all, but was a co-sponsor of the team. As a co-sponsor, he gave us the money. We have all the documents maintained and have nothing to hide,” he said.

Cubbon Park police inspector Jagadish told Deccan Herald: “The police are yet to receive the communication. So far we are not aware of any such directive. We will register the case as soon as we get the direction and begin investigation.”
