Merchant found dead

  He was found hanging, strangled with his shirt in the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe Welfare Office at Ramadas Layout on Friday.

Ravi Kumar (42) was running a cloth store Manu Agencies at K P Agrahara, the locality where he lived with his wife Lakshmidevamma and three children. He was also into real estate and money lending businesses.

On Thursday evening, Ravi Kumar left home telling his wife that he is going to collect money from a borrower. When he did not return home till 9.30 pm on Thursday, his wife called him.
Ravi Kumar told her that he could not reach home due to heavy rains and would be at home by 10 pm. Again at 10 pm when she called him, his phone was switched off. He did not return home in the night.

In the morning, the family members came to know that he was found hanging at the SC/ST office at Ramadas Layout.

Bottle of poison

An empty bottle of poison was found near the spot besides the mobile phone and a two-wheeler, which belonged to Ravi. Even the cash was found intact in the dead man’s pocket.

In her complaint to KP Agrahara police, Lakshmi said that his wrist watch and a gold chain are missing from his body. She suspected that her husband was murdered by those to whom he had lent money.
