Karthik holds nerve to bag title

In a well-fought final at the Bangalore Medical College hall, Karthik held his nerve well to seal a 3-11, 11-5, 15-13, 9-11, 11-7, 11-6 victory.

However, it was a walk in the park for Nikhil Kesar, who defeated Amit Dewan 14-12, 11-7, 11-7 for the Non-medallist crown in a lop-sided title clash.

Akshay Mahanta had to grind it out against Shreyal Telang in the Junior boys final that went the distance.

Trailing 2-3 after five games, Mahanta stepped on the peadal during the closing stages to win 6-11, 11-4, 11-13, 11-1, 4-11, 11-5, 11-9.

South Western Railway bagged the Team Championship after scoring a 3-1 win over Canara Bank.
