Kumaraswamy demands Sriramulu's resignation

Last Updated 20 September 2010, 17:47 IST

Addressing reporters here on Monday, he said the Chief Minister shifted D Sudhakar from Social Welfare Department to Muzrai after the death of beggars in Bangalore recently. The same yardstick should apply to Sriramulu. “Let Yeddyurappa divest Sriramulu of the health department and get his resignation,” he said.

“The Health Minister says officials of his department refuse to cooperate with him. Can we call this a government?,” the former chief minister asked. He criticised the BJP for the “drama being enacted” by its leaders over Cabinet restructuring ignoring the plight of people.

Turning to bypoll results in which JD(S) won the Gulbarga South seat pushing the Congress to third place, he alleged that the BJP and the Congress had entered into a tacit understanding to defeat his party.

“The BJP and the Congress say the JD(S) won because of the sympathy factor in Gulbarga. In the next elections, we will sweep the polls,” Kumaraswamy predicted.
