Court orders notice to govt on sites to STF personnel

The government had undertook before a Division Bench of the High Court to allot sites to the personnel in their respective cities. However, a Cabinet decision was taken to compensate the STF personnel with cash instead of sites. Earlier, a single judge in April 2010 had directed the government to allot sites as promised.

Govindappa and others moved a contempt petition as the government reneged on its undertaking. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice Manjula Chellur ordered notice to Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department, Home Secretary and others.
