Yaragol works to start in October

 He was speaking to mediapersons, after inspecting the the site allotted for the implementation of Yaragol drinking water project, near Yaragol village in Bangarpet taluk, along with the officials.

He explained that the foundation stone laid by the previous chairman had for the Yaragol project last week was illegal. The project was implemented about one-and-a-half years back itself. Henceforth, there shall not be any such confusions. The project would be completed within two years time, he added.

Precautionary measures

He said, precautionary measures would be taken for the farmers who are residing in the areas which will be submerged in the construction of the dam. The district administration will be releasing the compensation amount. Also, measures will be taken to ensure that the compensation amount would be in accordance to the market rate of the lands, the chairman said.

Krishnaiah Shetty said, “I have dreams of creating various projects which would help in supplying drinking water to all the cities in the State. The drinking water problem has been prevailing in the State for the last 50 years. I shall try my level best to ensure that the drinking water problem will be solved to the maximum extent possible, so far I am the chairman of the Board, he assured.

“It was my aim to solve the drinking water crisis faced by the people, in the next four years. And to achieve my target, I believe that Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will extend me complete support,” he said.

Inspections

Before inspecting the land allotted for the construction of the dam near Yaragol, Krishnaiah Shetty also inspected the pipelines which have been readied for supplying drinking water from Yaragol dam to Kolar, Bangarpet and Malur.

Managing Director of the Board Sandeep Duve, Assistant Commissioner M S Archana, Additional Deputy Commissioner K M Chandregowda, Bangarpet Tahsildar Dakshayini, Executive Engineer of the Board Venkatesh and several other officials were also present on the occasion.
