Addressing a news conference at his residence on Wednesday, Ravi said that the people who had been patting his back for his organisation skills turned their backs to him when it was time to give him greater responsibilities.

“I am deeply hurt by the attitude of the ‘seniors’ of creating wedge within the party. When children fight, responsible parents try to sort things out. Unfortunately, here parents are trying to gain profits out of fights. I don’t understand why they are behaving in this manner,” said Ravi.

When reporters asked Ravi to be direct and more precise and inform who ‘they’ are, he said that he has disclosed the identity of ‘they’ to the CM and BJP State President K S Eshwarappa.

“Even last night, I did sit in front of CM B S Yeddyurappa and Eshwarappa and spoke about my feelings. They have cited political inevitability as the reason behind me not getting cabinet berth,” Ravi said and added that all those people who had tried to pull CM down have received ministerial posts. “I always stayed with the party and worked for the party. Why was I neglected,” he questioned.

Ravi opined that Chikmagalur which gave new lease of life to Indira Gandhi’s political career was the forte of Congress.

“Today scenario has changed drastically. BJP has bagged all 5 assembly constituencies and parliament constituency here. I do not want the people of this region to repent for having believed BJP,” he said and added that even senior members of the Sangha Parivar and the party feel that he should have been given ministerial berth.
“I had clarified earlier that I would not want to be the Chief Whip in State Assembly or the President, Chairman of some Board or Authority. I know what I want and I have kept forth my demand. My efforts will not go in vain,” said Ravi.

“I have been asking a post in the cabinet to represent the district as nobody has become minister in the cabinet for the last 5 years. We have realised that people from other region will not concentrate or pay attention towards developing our district. Hence, my demand is valid and logical,” opined Ravi adding that BJP has proved that there is no place for sincere people who have worked for the progress of the party. Instead, ‘party hoppers’ are welcomed with open arms and given power and responsibilities.

Overspeed
One of the senior leaders of the party has supposedly told Ravi that his overspeed in politics led to the plight that he is presently in. Ravi said that whenever some one runs fast and reaches the end point in a race, they are lauded and their performance is rewarded.
“I expected the same and I speeded up my performance in the party. Unfortunately, let alone rewarding, I was not even recognised,” said Ravi.
