Both the teams won 3.5-0.5 to maintain a clean slate in the event. Top-rated Indian Krishnan Sasikiran was the only player to drop a half point on the top board when he was held to a draw by Yehuda Gruenfeld, while the remaining three Indians won easily to take their match point aggregate to four from the first two rounds. Grandmaster Surya Shekhar Ganguly, GN Gopal and B Adhiban completed easy victories.

It turned out to be good day for the Indian eves as they overwhelmed Indonesia by a similar score.

Nisha Mohota was held by Warda Aulia Medina but D Harika, Tania Sachdev and Eesha Karavade had it a lot easier.

At the top of the table, Vietnamese men caused a sensation by defeating seventh seeds Azerbaijan 2.5-1.5. Another major upset was caused by Croatia, who proved too good for eighth-seeded Bulgaria winning 2.5-1.5.
