Some schools to remain closed

Last Updated 23 September 2010, 18:33 IST

National Public School, Indiranagar, will conduct regular classes for students of montessori and middle school, as well as class XII students. However, the examinations scheduled for Friday would be postponed. The new schedule would be intimated to students later. The examinations scheduled for Saturday would be held as per the old timetable.

The unxpected holiday announced by the State government had thrown examination schedule of many schools haywire. “I was studying for my mathematics paper and now I have to learn physics. I don't have time to learn for the examination,” said a class X student of National Public School.

Some of the schools which will not conduct classes tomorrow are National Hill View Public School, Frank Anthony Public School, Cathedral High School, Delhi Public School and Army Public School.

While some schools may remain closed, others have decided to conduct classes. Preventive measures like blocking of bulk SMS became a barrier for many managements to inform students about the change in the schedule. “We normally send bulk SMS to students. However, we could not inform the students this time,” said Dinakar Wilson, Principal of Baldwins Boys High School, whichwill remain closed tomorrow.
