The branch events refer to the events which are specific to each of the different engineering disciplines of NITK. ‘Contraption’ and ‘Breakdown’ for chemical engineers; ‘Architect,’ ‘Colossus’ and ‘Fantasticity’ which tests the practical skills of civil engineers; ‘Automata,’ the toughest robotics event, which consists of building and programming an autonomous robot; ‘Velocity’ for mechanical engineers requiring the teams to make a remote controlled IC Engine powered cars and then battle it out on the racetrack; Online Math and Online Algorithm Quizzes for math enthusiasts; Symphony, the famed musical fountain are some of the many exciting events planned in this category.
The experience category includes professional workshops which help the participants gain first-hand knowledge on various topics. Previous workshops include aeromodelling, control systems, forensics, photography and robotics. ‘Techspeak’ consisting world class video-conferences through which renowned developers will give a talk on the latest developments and gadgets are some programmes planned to thrill the budding Engineers.
Socially Conscious Engineering has been implemented with measures like Green Engineer and campus clean-up drives using eco-friendly items that keep the surroundings clean and green. The strong message that will be sent to public with this initiative will help in creating awareness. Plans also include teams to come up with a sustainable plan to develop rural communities.
‘Last Word,’ a panel discussion involving eminent personalities from various disciplines who come together to discuss a pressing issue in today’s world will be the biggest attraction of this mega event, states a release.
