People had decorated the entire town as a part of celebration. Worships and special poojas to Ganesha were offered at temples from Thursday morning. But the sudden heavy pour of rain decreased the spirit of the crowd, taking away people’s joy during procession. Though there were 10 to 15 Ganapati idols established in the town, most of the idols were immersed days back for several reasons. Ganapa idols situated at private bus stand of the town, Powrakarmika Colony Ganesha idol, Kakkehole ganapathi and Janatha Colony ganapathi were taken in procession and immersed in water on the last day.

The ganesha idol situated at private bus stand by Sarvajanika Ganapati Seva Samiti was taken in a procession with much grandeur, accompanied by Mangala vadya and decorated Mantap. The bandset from Mangalore, Krishnagombe from Puttur and sound system of Madikeri increased the grandness of the show.

Gowri ganapathi idols of Powrakarmikara Colony were also taken in a grand procession by the members of Jai Bharat Youth Association. The tableaus of Bhaktha Prahlada and Horanya Kashpu’s murder attracted the attention of the audience. Kakkehole Ganapti of Ganapati Seva Samiti was prepared using natural colours which made it appear different from the rest.

All the Ganapati idols assembled near Cauveri statue of Madikeri road at 7 pm which was followed by a huge procession.
The procession started at Cauvery statue, reached Someshwara temple via Club Road, private bus stand and MG Road. Heavy downpour of rain during the time spoilt all the grandeur. So in a hurry, Ganapati idols were immersed in a short span of time.
Police force lead by DYSP Jayprakash, Circle Inspector V Krishaih, Sub-Inspector Mahesh followed the crew from the commencement of the procession till the end.
