2 held for murder of guard in JD(S) office

Muniyappa was allegedly harassing Raju for favours

Raju (26) and Sunil (19), both from Kodavathi in Tumkur district, were arrested for allegedly murdering Muniyappa. Raju, who was working in a tea stall near the JD(S) office, had developed intimate relationship with Muniyappa.

The watchman would harass Raju whenever he declined to yield to the demands. Also, of late, Muniyappa was pressurising Raju to bring prostitutes.  Unable to bear the torture, Raju decided to murder Muniyappa and took the assistance of his relative Sunil.  The duo had stabbed Muniyappa, hit him with chairs and chopped off his private organ, added the police.

Cleaner killed in accident

A cleaner was killed on the spot when a milk canter ran over him near Mother Dairy in Yelahanka on late Thursday night.

Anand (19) from Chigatihalli of Dudda Hobli in Hassan district, was giving directions to the van driver to reverse the van when he came under the rear wheel. The vehicle driver took him to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.

40-yr-old raped

A driver allegedly raped his neighbour on Thursday at her residence in Mahadevapura on Thursday.  Police said Veerappa (35) allegedly raped the 40-year-old woman who was leaving alone after she was deserted by her husband six months ago. Veerappa was arrested on Friday.

Homemaker found dead

Shilpa (27), a homemaker was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her residence in Manjunathnagar on Thursday evening. Shilpa was married to Ananth,  an engineer, two years ago. The couple had no issues.

According to the police, Shilpa had come back to Bangalore from her parents house in Mysore on Thursday and Ananth found her dead when he returned home from work, the police added.
