JOIN USIt was a full-scale exercise held with the support of the state governnment, CISF, airlines, airport authorities and all other stakeholders from 12.30 PM to 3 PM as a standard compliance, BIA said in a statement here.
The hijack scenario was from start of the first information received and included simulations of all stages of negotiations, passenger rescue and medical services, it said.
Parallel functions were put to test to familiarize the individuals involved with their roles and responsibilities as well as procedures during such incidents, it said, adding a further detailed debriefing session was held to share experiences of the exercise.
Over 300 people participated in this exercise,held during a period dedicated to runway maintenance and hence normal flights were not affected, it said.
