Muslim Board rules out amicable solution

The Board was also contemplating filing an intervention application in the Supreme Court on September 28 when the three-judge Bench headed by the Chief Justice would hear the petition seeking deferment of the verdict by the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court to settle the matter amicably.

“The legal cell of the board is seized of the matter... it is deliberating on taking steps to decide a course of action with regard to the petition in the Supreme Court,” senior board member Zafaryab Jilani told Deccan Herald here on Saturday.

Jilani said categorically that the Board was against any deferment of the temple-mosque ownership verdict. “The board will make this clear in its application to the apex court,” he added.
