Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, UAS Vice-Chancellor R R Hanchinaal said there are nearly 150 Raitha Sampark Kendras (RSK) coming under the UAS in seven districts of north Karnataka. Emphasis has been laid to appoint 150 scientists in RSKs and facilitate the farmers in getting appropriate information on crop pattern and other agriculture activities.
In this regard, measures have been taken to disseminate information through SMS to nearly 5,000 farmers on seed availability, weather report, current market price of agri products and information on sowing activities.
