Create awareness on H1N1: DC

Deputy Commissioner P I Sreevidya directed the District Health Officer to create awareness on H1N1 among the people in the district.

Speaking at a district-level meeting on Monday, she said members of various associations should join hands with the department in creating awareness upon the same.

She called upon the residents to drink only boiled water and to maintain cleanliness in the surroundings of houses.

Cleanliness should be maintained in water tanks. The water tanks that supply water to school and colleges in the gram panchayat jurisdiction should be cleaned at least once in two months.

ZP CEO K Lakshmi Priya said that there is a need to create awareness on the spread of H1N1 among residents.

District Health Officer Dr Rajesh said that 24 suspected H1N1 cases were reported in the district, of which seven cases were confirmed. The district has sufficient stock of medicines to treat patients suspected of having H1N1, he added.
