Patients told to take benefits of Arogya Karnataka

The state government has implemented ‘Arogya Karnataka’ scheme for the patients from financially poor families.

District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Rajesh suggested the deserving patients avail the benefits.

Speaking during a workshop on the scheme, organised by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Cooperative Department and Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust on Monday, he said that the scheme has been implemented by the government by amalgamating ‘Yashaswini’, ‘Vajapayee Arogyashree’, ‘Rajiv Arogya Bhagya’, ‘Rastriya Bala Swasthya Karyakrama’, ‘Indira Suraksha Yojana’ and ‘Senior Citizens Rashtriya Swasthya Beema Yojana’.

Under the scheme, free treatment will be provided to BPL and APL card holders towards first and second level ailments. If required, references will be made to registered hospitals. Treatment up to Rs 30,000 will be available for second level ailments and up to Rs 2,00,000 for third level ailments.

He further said that the nodal officers of the hospitals should compulsorily update the treatments available under the scheme on the Arogya Karnataka Online portal before 9 am every day. Also, the deserving patients are required to register under the prescribed proforma by the hospitals, while admitting the in-patients.

Cooperative Societies Assistant Register Ravikumar, Cooperative Development Officer Mohan and Kodagu District Co-operative Association Union CEO Yogendra Nayak were present among others.
