Hassan under Udan circuit soon: Sadananda Gowda

Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, on Monday, said that Hassan, Bidar and Shivamogga will be covered under ‘Udan’ (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik), a regional airport development and regional connectivity scheme, of the Union government.

Addressing media persons here on Monday, Sadananda Gowda said, the Union government is committed to the overall development of the country. There are instructions to start five All India Institute of Medical Sciences, IIIT and IIT. Last year, Raichur was sanctioned with an IIIT. However, the state government will decide on the place to establish the institution, he said.

The Minister assured that the construction of railway overbridge near the new bus stand would begin soon. The Centre has already released funds and the works would begin once the state government releases its share, he said.

Nipah virus

Commenting on the Congress-JD(S) coalition government, Gowda said that it would not survive for long. Comparing it to a fruit, he ridiculed that the fruit has been infected with ‘nipah’ virus. When questioned about the Cong-JD(S) alliance in Lok Sabha elections, he said, it has to be seen whether the government will stay afloat till the Parliamentary elections.

Replying to a query on Pejawar seer’s statement on BJP failing to retrieve black money stashed in overseas banks, Gowda said, the seer has not told that the government had done nothing.

The seer has only given suggestions related to black money and purification of River Ganga. It has been accepted, he added.
