Magic show for cleanliness

A series of magic shows to create awareness among schoolchildren on cleanliness drive initiated by Ramakrishna Mission will be inaugurated at T V Ramana Pai hall in Kodialbail, on June 14.

Noble ideas sown into tender minds yield fruits. Hence, to create awareness among school students, Swacch Manas programme is being carried out in about 108 schools of Dakshina Kannada. This programme is reaching out to more than 10,000 students. Magic for cleanliness is a special programme, planned and executed by Ramakrishna Mission, which will not only entertain the young minds but also educate them about hygiene and cleanliness.

Issues, ranging from the significance of cleanliness, the only earth we have, best out of waste, a demon named plastic, our waste our responsibility and swacchata oath, among others, will be conveyed to the hearts of the young students through magic shows. Renowned magician Kudroli Ganesh and his team will conduct nearly 100 shows in about 100 schools reaching out to nearly one lakh students. Daily two shows of one-hour duration are planned in each school, and this programme will last for nearly two months.

For the last four years, Ramakrishna Mission has undertaken several initiatives under Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan to create awareness among the citizens. Weekly shramadan, daily awareness campaign, Swacch Grama and Swacch Manas and reaching out to students. These programmes, executed in the fourth phase, have received good feedback from the public.

The programme will be inaugurated by ZP CEO Dr M R Ravi, while Swami Jitakamananda, Adhyaksha, Ramakrishna Mutt will preside.
