<p>New Delhi: BJP raising decibel levels over ‘Sheesh Mahal’, AAP hosting a number of Hindu saints and inducting some of them, aligned with BJP, into its ‘Sanatan Seva Samiti’ and Congress launching its second guarantee ‘Jeevan Raksha Yojana’ marked the first day of campaigning for Delhi Assembly elections on Wednesday after poll schedule was announced.</p><p>The day started with high drama as AAP senior leaders Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj landing in front of 6, Flagstaff Road residence, which was once occupied by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and described by BJP as ‘Sheesh Mahal’, demanding that they be allowed in so that they could verify whether there are swimming pools and minibar as alleged by BJP.</p>.Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 | Kejriwal faces key test amid BJP's big push for dominance in national capital.<p>Police did not allow them, leading to a protest with Singh claiming that the “BJP's lies” of the bungalow, whose controversial renovation under AAP has been made an issue by the saffron party, has been exposed before the entire country. BJP had claimed there is a mini bar, a swimming pool, and a commode made of gold at the bungalow.</p><p>AAP leaders and workers then tried to march to the Prime Minister's official residence on Lok Kalyan Marg, but were again stopped by police and detained as they staged a dharna. In response, Delhi BJP president Virender Sachdeva took media to the AB-17, Mathura Road bungalow allotted to Chief Minister Atishi to show that she already has an official residence and claimed that withdrawal of allocation of 6, Flagstaff Road bungalow was in order.</p><p>BJP fielded senior leaders from Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Sudhanshu Trivedi to attack AAP on ‘Sheesh Mahal’ issue and held a series of press meets on the controversy. “Hypocrisy and drama are in the DNA of AAP. Some priests who were said to be members of BJP’s ‘Pandit Cell’ were inducted into AAP’s Sanatan Seva Samiti while highlighting the party’s promise of a monthly salary of Rs 18,000 to Hindu priests and Sikh ‘Granthis’. BJP called AAP a “chunavi (election) Hindu”.</p><p>One of the ‘sants’ who addressed the gathering, Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Yogeshwarji Maharaj claimed that he was one of the priests who laid the foundation stone of new BJP headquarters but added that the “admirable work you (Kejriwal) have undertaken has not been done by anyone in the past nor would it be in the future.” </p><p>AAP and Congress also locked horns with former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot saying that AAP is their opponent and it has turned "delusional" after two consecutive victories. Kejriwal hits back saying Gehlot's remarks have confirmed that both the parties are in alliance in Delhi.</p><p>Gehlot also launched Congress’ second guarantee which provides for a health insurance up to Rs 25 lakh to all Delhiites.</p><p>While candidates of AAP, Congress and BJP, whose names were announced, kept their date with their constituencies, senior leadership of the three parties were engaged in taking each other on various issues besides planning their future strategies. While AAP has announced all candidates, hopefuls in Congress and BJP in vacant seats are lobbying for a place.</p>
