The Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024 were held in two phases- on November 13 and 20- wherein 43 seats went to polls in the first round and 38 in the second.

This time, voter turnout reached a record 67.74 per cent, the highest since the formation of Jharkhand on November 15, 2000.

The counting of votes began at 8:00 am, and with the fate of 1,211 candidates hanging in the balance.

JMM secured a second consecutive term as part of the I.N.D.I.A. bloc.

JMM’s spectacular performance in Jharkhand

JMM-led I.N.D.I.A. won in 56 of the 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand.

How the key candidates performed?

JMM's Hemant Soren won the Barhait seat by a margin of 39,791 votes.

Turncoat Champai soren who joined the BJP recently won from Saraikella by a margin of 20,447 votes.

BPJ's Babulal Marandi won from Dhanwar by a margin of 35,438 votes.

JMM's Kalpana Soren from Gandey won by a margin of  17,142 votes.

The grand old party's Rameshwar Oraon from Lohardaga won by a margin of 34,670 votes.

What were the majority exit poll speculations?

As per the exit polls in Jharkhand, the majority predicted a win for the NDA. in the eastern state.

The Matrize Exit poll predicted 42-47 seats for the NDA and 25-30 seats for the I.N.D.I.A. bloc and gave 0-4 seats to others.

People's Pulse predicted 44-53 seats for NDA and 25-37 seats for I.N.D.I.A. bloc while giving 5-9 seats to others.

Axis MyIndia has predicted a 45 per cent vote share for the I.N.D.I.A. bloc and 37 per cent for the NDA in the eastern state.

JVC-TimesNow has forecast victory for the NDA with 42 seats and is closely followed by the I.N.D.I.A. bloc's 38 seats.
