Amoli: The fate of children kidnapped in India for sex

In India, a child goes missing every eight minutes and approximately, 3.6 million children are kidnapped for sex slavery, both from rural and urban areas.

'Amoli', a 30-minute-documentary film, that narrates the fate of children kidnapped and forced into sex slavery, will be released on May 7. Directed by National Award winners Jasmine Kaur and Avinash Roy, the film is produced under the banner of Culture Machine.

The film depicts the reality of commercial sexual exploitation of children in India. Apart from English, the film will be dubbed in Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu.

For the trailer, Rajkummar Rao (Hindi), Vidya Balan (English), Jisshu Sengupta (Bengali), Puneeth Rajkumar (Kannada) and Kamal Haasan (Tamil) have given voice.

The fate of 'Amoli' (the name of the kidnapped girl) is also the childhood experience of thousands of sex workers in this country. Kidnapped and sold, tortured and threatened, they are considered as mere products by flesh traders.
