<p>Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is facing backlash from right-wing organizations following his controversial comments on Brahmins, even an FIR is lodged against him in Jaipur.</p><p>Following Anurag Kashyap's controversial remarks on Brahmins, Suresh Mishra, representing the Chanakya Sena and Akhil Bhartiya Brahman Mahasabha, has offered a Rs 1 lakh cash reward for anyone who blackens his face.</p><p>Brahmin organisations nationwide have voiced strong opposition and outrage over Anurag Kashyap’s recent comments. An online meeting was held today with participation from groups such as the Chanakya Sena, Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha, Brahmin Seva Sangh, All India Brahmin Mahasabha, Vishwa Brahmin Parishad, and All India Brahmin Sangh. Representatives from across the country attended.</p><p>The session was presided over by Pt. Suresh Mishra, National President of the Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha and Chief Patron of the Chanakya Sena. During the meeting, Mishra said that people like Anurag Kashyap, who spread baseless narratives about Brahmins and promote societal unrest, must be dealt with firmly.</p><p>Calling it unfortunate, that a community known for its selfless service and commitment to unity is being targeted by what he called 'deranged individuals.' Mishra called for strong resistance against efforts to destroy societal values and urged that such people be publicly shamed to set an example. </p><p>He also announced a Rs 1 lakh reward for anyone who blackens the face of Anurag Kashyap for writing offensive content against Brahmins. </p><p>All this started when Kashyap’s film <em>Phule</em>, which explores the lives of Jyotiba and Savitribai Phule, sparked debate due to its portrayal of caste issues. While responding to criticism of his film, Kashyap made a controversial comment about Brahmins on social media. </p><p>After facing heavy trolling, Kashyap apologised on Saturday.</p>.<p>In an Instagram post, he wrote, "This is my apology, not for my post but for that one line taken out of context and the brewing hatred. No action or speech is worth your daughter, family, friends and colleagues getting rape and death threats from the kingpins of sanskar."</p><p>"I won't take back what I said. Abuse me all you want. My family didn't say anything. If you want an apology, here it is," he added.</p><p>Following backlash from some Brahmin groups in Maharashtra concerning how the community was represented, the film’s release was postponed to April 25, 2025.</p>
