Disney releases action-packed first trailer of 'TRON: Ares'

On Monday morning, Disney dropped the first trailer of its much-anticipated movie of the Tron franchise: TRON: Ares. The third installment in the groundbreaking franchise was one of the eagerly expected threequels and the announcement has sent a wave of happiness among the fans.

This movie is a follow-up to Disney’s 1982 seminal science fiction film TRON and its 2010 sequel, TRON: Legacy. After a fifteen-year hiatus, Disney is finally ready to unleash the grid with a long-awaited Tron threequel.

The trailer shows two programs blaze through a real-world city on light cycles, their luminous trails tearing through a police car as they race ahead. TRON: Ares follows a highly sophisticated program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with AI beings.

Apart from the trailer, Disney also released the first look poster, further elevating the anticipation for this project. This upcoming American science fiction action film is directed by Joachim Rønning and the screenplay is done by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne.

The movie stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson and Jeff Bridges. Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Jared Leto, Emma Ludbrook and Steven Lisberger are the producers with Russell Allen serving as executive producer.

Disney’s TRON: Ares is scheduled to be released in Indian theatres on October 10, 2025.
