Film producer Sunil Kumar, 45, passes away due to liver failure

A well-recognised figure in North India, particularly in Haryana, Sunil remains one of the notable figures who has shaped and motivated several talents through his projects.

Sunil Kumar, the film producer behind The Great Indian Casino, featuring Ameesha Patel, and Son with Rajpal Yadav, has passed away due to liver failure. He was 45. Sunil had been battling health issues and undergoing treatment over the past few years. The funeral will be held today at 2 pm in his hometown, Meghanwas, Mehndergarh, in Haryana.

Sunil's notable contribution was Dada Lakhmi, a critically acclaimed Haryanvi film based on the life and musical journey of folk legend Pandit Lakhmi Chand. In addition to films, Sunil has also turned producer for music albums.

Before entering the film industry, Kumar had served as an employee in the GST department. He co-founded Eagle Fly Traders and Eagle Fly Productions with partners Ashok Kumar and Pardeep Kumar. The duo expressed deep sorrow over his untimely passing.

In a joint statement, they expressed profound grief over the loss, describing it as “an irreparable blow” to their team and the film industry.

“Sunil was more than just a partner—he was family. His vision and passion brought so many projects to life. We are shattered,” said Pardeep Kumar.

The film and music fraternity remembers Sunil Kumar as a quiet force of creativity, bridging traditional roots with cinematic expression. Known for his quiet determination and love for cinema, his legacy will continue through the projects he helped bring to the screen.
