<p>English (A)<br />Cast: Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Tom Hardy, Chelsea Handler<br />Director: McG<br /><br /></p>.<p>This means war is a predictable comedy thriller which completely fails to deliver what it promises – thrill and wit.<br /><br />Best friends and CIA operative partners FDR Foster (Pine) and Tuck (Hardy) are stunned when they realise that they are dating the same girl Lauren Scott (Witherspoon). Lauren is a lonely girl searching for love and she relies on her bestie, love and sex guru Trish (Chelsea Handler), for advice.<br /><br />After the boys’ respective first dates with her, neither of them is ready to let her go. To solve the problem, they come to a “gentlemen’s agreement” to woo her simultaneously, obeying certain rules. </p>.<p>They even use the government’s surveillance equipment to track each other’s dates, making it the prime job of two of the ‘best’ CIA agents in the country. Their bromance is depicted more prominently than the love they have for the girl and that is the surprisingly the only feel-good element in the movie. The two handsome men are a delight to watch but Witherspoon’s big smiles and attempts to look sexy seem vain and it fails to make it through to the audience. <br /><br />Occasional attempts have been made to make a funny scene but that too will not save this movie. It could be the cast that went wrong or the totally cliché storyline which offers no surprises.<br /><br />Coming from McG, the director of Charlie’s Angels and Terminator Salvation, this one’s truly disappointing.</p>
