With little time in our busy lives, it’s good to know there are a few simple things we can do regularly that can make a huge difference to how our body functions, thus, making us look and feel healthier. Yes, it’s detoxifying your body. The trend of detoxifying the body is progressively taking the fitness realm by storm. It not only gives you a lean and fit body but also a healthy mind.

What is detoxification?

Detoxification is the process of removing and eliminating toxins and then feeding your body with healthy nutrients. It not only ensures the proper flow of energy but also boosts our immune system and prevents chronic diseases.

Toxins block our system and interfere with the smooth functioning of the organs. Getting rid of the toxins is necessary through the intestines, lungs, kidneys, lymphatic system, and skin. Otherwise, it can lead to lethargy, insomnia, obesity, diabetes, back pain, and digestive disorders.

Therefore, it’s important to follow the right way to detox which can help protect you from disease and renew your ability to maintain optimum health.

Here are some ways to cleanse your body by tweaking your diet and making some lifestyle changes:

Increase the intake of water

Cleansing your body is a daunting task. The intake of toxins and chemicals are so strong that our body needs time to process it out. So it is essential to keep yourself hydrated at all times. Drink enough water in a day; approximately 7-10 glasses or 2 litres. It solves most of your skin issues and boosts the energy levels. Also, you can start your mornings with a glass of lemon water. This single glass does magic to your body and flushes out all the toxins.

Eat more fruits & veggies

When it comes to diet, a colourful variety of fruits and veggies should be the main focus of your diet. Also, dark green vegetables are full of micronutrients and are very low in calories, so you can eat a lot of them. Along with it, you should also eat whole grains, beans and legumes, and small amounts of nuts and seeds. Also, beets, cabbage, radish, broccoli, spirulina, chlorella, and seaweed are super powerful detoxifying foods.

No more caffeinated drinks

Try to substitute caffeine with some lime tea, green tea or ginger tea which is actually a beneficial alternative. Caffeinated drinks can affect your digestion and add more toxins to your body. It is always better to opt for green tea to rejuvenate and recharge your body.

Get active

Exercising and being physically active helps your body feel energetic by improving blood circulation. Improved blood circulation has several advantages including better digestion, relief from stress and tension, and aids in lubrication of joints. Regular exercise is also associated with a longer life and a reduced risk of many conditions and diseases, including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and certain cancers. People who exercise regularly have increased metabolism and fewer toxins in their body as compared to those who do not exercise at all.

Sleep well

Full body detox is of utmost importance. A lot of us underestimate the importance of a good night’s sleep. Your brain tends to wash out toxins while you sleep as well. Moreover, sleeping is the time when your body re-energises for the next day. Hence, ensure that you are getting sufficient sleep at night.
