Golden jubilee fete of Mangaluru Fisheries College

As a part of the golden jubilee celebrations of Fisheries College, a proposal to construct a golden jubilee hall and a museum will be submitted to the government.

Speaking to media persons, Dean Prof Shivananda Murthy said that as a part of the celebrations, a global alumni meet will be held in September. The meet will be a three-day event with an exhibition, cultural programmes, interactions and a Guruvandana programme. A national-level workshop and a conference will also be held as part of the golden jubilee celebrations. A series of golden jubilee guest lectures has already been started, he said.

He said that till date, 1,400 students have graduated from the institute. The alumni have occupied different positions like director general of Indian Council of Agriculture Research, chancellor of National Agriculture University, vice-chancellors and agriculture commissioners, he explained.
