Hulivesha team to give copper, silver plates to temple

Mangaladevi Hulivesha of Mulihithlu Games Team will perform the traditional tiger dance at Mangaladevi Temple and Bolara Sri Mariyamma Mahishamardhini Temple for three days from October 18, to celebrate its golden jubilee.

Team President Lalithraj Mendon told reporters that as a part of the golden jubilee celebrations, the team will offer copper and silver to cover Sri Mangaladevi Temple’s mast (Dhwajasthamba) on October 10.

He said a procession of the copper and silver to cover the mast will begin from Mulihithlu and after passing through Bolara, Jeppu Market, Casscia High School, it will end at the temple.

The golden jubilee celebrations will be organised at Mangaladevi Temple Kala Vedike on October 12.

Senior artistes of the team, Hulivesha paint artist Umesh Bolar, actor Aravind Bolar and Benchpress winner Panchami Bolar will be felicitated.

“Our team is given due prominence during Mangaladevi and Bolara Sri Mariamma Mahishamardhini Temple’s Navaratri processions. Children also take part in tiger dance. Our team had performed in Germany and France in 2000. Even during Emergency period, our Guru late Umesh had performed Hulivesha during the rathotsava of Mangaladevi Temple,” Mendon recollected.
