Deposing before the Special CBI court hearing the second generation (2G) spectrum case, Sethuraman said he wanted to change the statement that he had identified the signature of Hari Nair, senior Reliance executive and another accused currently lodged in jail.
He said he had merely stated that the signature “appears to be” that of Hari Nair.
“At the time of recording, I was not satisfied with the contents of my statement and I protested to the officer (CBI) to change the contents thereof relating to identification of signatures of Hari Nair,” said Sethuraman during the cross examination by Majid Menon, advocate for accused Vinod Goenka, Director of Swan Telecom (P) Ltd. According to Sethuraman, his statement was recorded by the CBI between January and March 2011 and he had protested even then.
