<p>A day after his “hawalabaaz” (scamster) jibe, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a fresh salvo at the Congress, saying its 40 MPs are conspiring to impair the nation’s development. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Slamming the Congress for disrupting Parliament proceedings, Modi said 40 MPs are “conspiring” to impede the nation’s progress against the wishes of 400 MPs. He said it was unfortunate that the government had not been allowed to speak in Parliament. <br /><br />Modi said some people are trying to divide Parliament and gain a false sense of pride. “People of the country will not forgive these political parties for their conduct,” he said, terming such conduct an “insult to democracy”. <br /><br />Modi said the need has arisen for people to pressure MPs to work, seek answers to their questions and discuss issues by working in Parliament. “It is unfortunate, but I am now putting this case of the Lok Sabha before the Jan Sabha (people) since we have not been able to speak in Parliament,” he said at a rally in Chandigarh on Friday. <br /><br />On the issue of OROP, Modi mocked some people still agitating despite the promise being fulfilled. “This bimari (disease) of agitation does not go,” he said, besides accusing the previous regimes of doing precious little on the issue.</p>
