<p>Hyderabad: In a key development the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/cbi">CBI</a> investigation team has arrested four individuals in connection with the alleged adulteration of the cow ghee used to make <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/laddu">Tirumala laddu prasadam</a>. </p><p>Those arrested include Bipin Jain and Pomil Jain, former directors of Bhole Baba Dairy (Roorkee, Uttarakhand), Vaishnavi Dairy (Poonambakkam) CEO Apoorva Vinay Kant Chawda, and AR Dairy (Dundigal) MD Raju Rajasekharan.</p><p>The investigation officers presented the accused in the Tirupati court under Crime No. 470/24.</p><p>The investigation revealed serious violations during ghee supply, with irregularities at every step, sources in the TTD said. </p><p>Representatives of Vaishnavi Dairy secured tenders in the name of AR Dairy for ghee supply.</p><p>Vaishnavi Dairy fabricated false documents and seals, using the AR Dairy name to manipulate the tender process. Fake records were created by Vaishnavi Dairy, claiming to have sourced ghee from Bhole Baba Dairy in Roorkee.</p>.YSRCP chief Jagan says he doesn’t know details of TTD action against non-Hindu staff issue.<p>Authorities found that Bhole Baba Dairy did not have the capacity to supply such quantities of ghee.</p><p>The investigation team identified the irregularities and arrested four individuals from three dairies.</p><p>In the previous YSRCP government’s tenure, impure materials like animal fat were reportedly found in the ghee that was supplied to make Tirumala laddu prasadam. The scandal created a nationwide sensation when it came to light.</p><p>The Supreme Court formed a special investigation team (SIT) involving central and state officials. </p><p>The five-member team included two from CBI, two from the AP government, and one from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).</p><p>Key officials CBI Joint Director Veeresh Prabhu, CBI Visakhapatnam SP Murali, and FSSAI Advisor Dr. Satyan Kumar Panda. Under the supervision of the CBI Director, the SIT was formed as per the Supreme Court directive. The investigation began last year with CBI officials.</p><p>TTD uses 15,000 kg of cow ghee daily for the preparation of Tirumala laddus.</p><p>AR Foods from Tamil Nadu secured a tender to supply ghee at Rs 320 per kg.</p><p>On July 8, eight tankers of ghee arrived, and four tankers were sent to labs for testing.</p><p>On July 17, NDDB Lab reports confirmed adulteration of impure substances in the ghee.</p>
