<div align="justify">One more research scholar of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) here has committed suicide on Saturday reportedly depressed over lack of prospects for the field of his study. <br /><br />Vishal Tandon, a native of Mumbai, was pursuing his PhD in the Centre for Women Studies, on ‘Muslim Masculinities in Crisis: A Queer Reading of Hindi Films’. He has already completed two years of research.<br /><br />Tandon leaped to death from the 14th floor of his apartment Aparna Sarovar located near the university campus. <br /><br />Chandanagar police said Tandon has sent an e mail to his sister in Mumbai that his career was not shaping well. Sensing trouble, she immediately alerted a common friend but by then Vishal had ended his life. <br /><br />The suicidal death of Rohith Vemula, a research scholar on campus in 2016, drew national attention over a series of such deaths on campus owing to prejudice and lack of peer support. <br /><br /></div>
