On a day when the Supreme Court took cognizance of a PIL seeking a probe into the coalgate scam, the BJP renewed its demand that the Prime Minister should resign over the issue, while also condemning finance minister P Chidambaram’s remark that the CAG’s estimation of Rs 1,86,000 notional loss in coal block allocation would be “mythical”.

Ahead of the Parliament session on Thursday, party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told reporters, "the BJP condemns the finance minister for attacking and mocking the CAG once again.”

“He has done so in 2G. Now he is doing so on coal issue also,” Javadekar added.
He again demanded Manmohan Singh’s resignation and an impartial investigation into coal block allocation.
