SCO Summit Highlights: Leaders say seeking to forge closer ties, not against any country

SCO leaders have said that interference in internal affairs of other states under the pretext of combating terrorism and extremism is not permitted. Indian Foreign Secretary has said that there are no more pending applications requesting SCO membership. The Ministry of External Affairs is now briefing the media after PM Modi's SCO address. Earlier, while addressing the summit, Russian President Putin said that they will resist 'sanctions and provocations' directed at the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit virtually today. Several other leaders like Xi Jinping, Putin and Shehbaz Sharif also joined the meeting virtually. PM welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Obligation for the SCO membership of Belarus, also shared his happiness on Iran being the newest member in the SCO family.
